County increases Hythe Memorial Arena operational funding

The County of Grande Prairie has increased the Hythe Athletic Associations’ operation funding for the Hythe Memorial Arena for 2023. The funding was increased to $128,000 for a one-year term.

Next year, the Athletic Association will have to report to the council within 60 days of their year end, for the council to decide on funding for 2024.

A prorated arena operating grant of $32,000 was also approved for the association earlier this week, which will help cover the operation costs for the last three months of 2022. This funding will come from the Community Grant Reserve. The Athletic Association’s original funding for 2022 was $46,040.
