Bear Lake boat launch shut down

The County of Grande Prairie has closed the boat launch at Bear Lake. The launch needs to be repaired before watercraft users can safely use trailers to unload boats into the lake.

The county is asking in the meantime that the beach area not be used as a launch as it could pose a safety risk. Meanwhile, and smaller watercraft that do not require a trailer can still use the boat launch to access the lake.

It’s not clear how long it will take for repairs to be finished.
