UPDATE: Grande Prairie region under special air quality advisory

UPDATE: A special air quality advisory has also been issued for Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and Valleyview areas.

A special air quality advisory has been issued for the MD of Greenview near Fox Creek, Peace River, Fairview, High Prairie, and Manning areas.

According to Environment Canada “Air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour.”

Residents are being warned the smoke could lead to increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.
