The Peace Country may see another severe thunderstorm after the one Monday night. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview and Peace River – Fairview – High Prairie – Manning regions.
Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing large hail and heavy rain.
“Widespread thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may become severe, giving nickel-sized hail, and heavy downpours.”
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
