One of the items in Premier Danielle Smith’s mandate letter to Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors Devin Dreeshen could impact the Grande Prairie region.
One of the main priorities the Alberta Premier addressed is growing and developing the province’s airports, with “special attention” to regional ones. Grande Prairie’s was specifically mentioned.
Dreeshen has been directed to take the lead on the project while working with Minster of Jobs, Economy, and Trade Matt Jones on this item. According to Premier Smith, focusing on growing regional airports like Grande Prairie’s “can help Albertans connect themselves and their goods to major international airports and increase Alberta’s economic competitiveness.”
Smith appointed Dreeshen Transportation Minister in June after the United Conservative Party won a majority government.
