Grande Prairie Transit will soon be offering late night service on an on-demand basis.
Kicking off July 29th, the on-demand service will run from 9 to 11 p.m., with a final booking deadline of 10:15 p.m. Monday to Saturday, with Sunday hours running from 6 to 8 p.m.
The city says the late night service is available from any transit stop to any other transit stop, and doesn’t fall under specific on-demand zones, and will cost only regular bus fare.
It’s said the expansion comes from current rider feedback and the request for improved service options.
“By offering service later into the evening, we are able to better connect our community for both work and play,” says Mayor Jackie Clayton. “This is a huge advancement for the social and economic development of Grande Prairie, and we look forward to ongoing continuous improvement in our transit services.”
Late night service can be booked using the GP My Ride app or by calling Transit Services at 780-830-RIDE.
