The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie is celebrating its 40th anniversary as part of Alberta Culture Days. An opening reception is being held tonight, with the unveiling of a public sculpture that will find a home on the west side of the gallery. Titled “Night School”, the sculpture was commissioned by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and created by a Lethbridge-based artist.
Exhibits, workshops and film screenings are being held across the city this weekend, including the 6th annual Wearable Art Show and a sneak preview of the Reel Shorts Film Festival. The Centre for Creative Arts has been named one of five feature celebration sites in the province, and a full schedule can be found on its website.
