City of Grande Prairie’s newly established Investment and Strategy Committee to meet for the first time

Grande Prairie City Council’s newly established “Investment and Strategy” committee will convene for the first time during council’s upcoming committee meetings.

The new committee is a hybrid and replaces the old Invest GP and Strategy and Communications Services committees, combining the two in an effort to better address both of their agendas.

The schedule for the committee meetings this year has yet to be approved; however, councillors Dylan Bressey, Wendy Bosch, Gladys Blackmore, and Mayor Jackie Clayton will represent the new committee during its first meeting.

Councillors sitting on the Investment and Strategy Committee will hold the responsibility of directing city administrators to engage with the public, move investment projects forward to council, and hear updates regarding ongoing city projects.

During their meeting on October 29th, Interim Chief of Staff for the City of Grande Prairie Rory Tarant will provide a Service Area Update, present two voting resolutions for the city’s involvement in the upcoming Family and Community Support Services Association of Alberta AGM, and present strategies for engagement ahead of 2025 Budget Deliberations.
