The Peace River RCMP has been called to assist local fire services with the response to an apartment building fire.
Police are asking residents to avoid the North End area of Peace River, specifically in the area of 77th Avenue to allow for the free flow of emergency vehicles and personnel.
Evacuees are advised there is a reception centre being set up at the Baytex Energy Centre in Peace River.
The RCMP says an update will be issued as more information becomes available.
