The region that includes Grande Prairie reported the second-lowest unemployment rate across the province in October.
According to Statistics Canada, the Banff – Jasper – Rocky Mountain House and Athabasca – Grande Prairie – Peace River region was 4.9 per cent, a 0.2 per cent downtick from both September and October 2023.
The Camrose – Drumheller region was the only region to record a lower unemployment rate with 4.3 per cent, while Edmonton’s unemployment rate was the highest in the province with 7.9 per cent.
