UPDATE: Freezing rain warning replaces flash freeze warning in Grande Prairie region

UPDATE#2: As of 3:00 p.m., a Freezing Rain warning has been issued. Officials say in addition to already falling freezing rain, sporadic periods of freezing rain will continue though the overnight and into the morning on Wednesday.

Conditions will improve by Wednesday afternoon.

UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the flash freeze warning for the areas of Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, and Valleyview.

Temperatures are expected to plummet tonight across the Peace Country, and it’s prompted a flash freeze warning from Environment Canada.

Officials say after an unseasonably warm-up, temperatures Tuesday evening into the overnight hours are expected to reach -11 degrees Celcius, and could see ponding water, slush, and any falling precipitation freeze as a result.
