Parking bans on permanent snow routes lifted, crews continue patrols and sanding

The City of Grande Prairie has lifted parking bans on permanent snow routes across the city, effective 10:30 a.m. on December 20th.

Despite this, temporary parking bans remain in place for Friday, Week A neighbourhoods, while residential snow-clearing crews complete work in the area. These temporary bans are in place from 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

The city maintains that failure to comply with parking bans can cause delays and result in ticketing. A full list of parking ban guidelines is available online, on the city’s website, and residents are encouraged to take a minute to review them in preparation for future snowfall.

While parking bans are lifted, the city says snow crews will continue operating across GP, patrolling and sanding any problem areas. Drivers are asked to give snow crews adequate space and remain three car lengths behind equipment operating on the road.
