A victim is being treated for minor injuries after two unknown females entered her home yesterday afternoon. RCMP say the elderly woman was inside her home in the area of 100 Street and 95 Avenue when the two suspects came in to use the phone. They then proceeded to grab the victim’s purse and left the area in a truck.
RCMP got a description of a truck and the women from people from the neighbourhood which they then used to find the vehicle later that night. At around 1:00 am April 12th, Police located a truck that matched the description at the 100 street Petro Canada. Once the vehicle was pulled over, one of the suspects was found inside and arrested. They later found the second suspect in an apartment on the west of the city.
The suspects are being charged with robbery, being unlawfully in a dweilling, and mischief. They will are waiting for their bail hearing which is later on April 12th.
RCMP advise people not to let strangers into their homes and to call police if anyone tries to gain entry into your home.
