You can get rid of your garbage for free this Sunday at the Aquatera Landfill. There will no tipping fees for household waste on October 30th from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. County Reeve Leane Beaupre says that county council recommended they provide a free day in hopes to reduce illegal dumping around the region. She says it is common for people to drop waste where they are not supposed to, especially in the Dunes area.
Last year, there were 409 loads dropped off on the free day at 87.36 tonnes altogether. Free tipping day is held once a year at the 100th street facility in Grande Prairie.
