Grande Prairie couple wins Cash and Cars Lottery

This year’s Alberta Cancer Foundation Cash and Cars Lottery grand prize has gone to a very deserving couple. Barbara and Roy Borstad of Grande Prairie have won a $1.3 million prize package, complete with a 3,500 square foot home in Calgary, a new Toyota Rav4 and $5,000 cash.

The couple both lost their first spouses to cancer, along with their daughter. They created the Gail Borstad Von Oder Memorial Award in Nursing at Grande Prairie Regional College in her honour, and continue to support students through it.

Proceeds from the lottery go towards the 17 cancer centres in the province.
