STARS making last minute appeal for lottery ticket sales

Albertans only have just over a day left to support STARS Air Ambulance through their annual lottery. As of March 21st, only 92 per cent of tickets have been sold, which is down seven per cent from the day before the deadline last year.

The fundraiser is the organization’s largest of the year, with a sell out bringing in 10 million dollars. That’s enough to run one of the three bases in Alberta for an entire year.

Tickets were down by 20 per cent earlier this month, and spokesperson Fatima Khawaja says they’ve been blown away by how the province has stepped up since then. Tickets can be bought on the STARS lottery website until midnight March 22nd.
