QEII Hospital parking restricted as repaving starts next week

If you already don’t like parking at the QEII hospital, you’re going to hate it next week. Alberta Health Services is resurfacing various lots and upgrading curbs and sidewalks this year in phases.

Construction will start with part of the main public lot, which will be closed starting 8:30 p.m. Sunday night. Some public parking will be allowed in the staff lot south of it, and traffic control people will be on hand during the day to help drivers find the entrance. Signs will also be put up.

The first stage of construction is expected to take five weeks, with all work done by this fall. It will be business as usual inside the hospital during construction.
