Grande Prairie’s own Dean Dreger took home the top prize at the Rio Grande Rodeo over the Canada Day long weekend. Dreger won the Western Chuckwagon Association dash for cash Sunday, earning him $3,500. He was followed closely by Don Federuik, also of Grande Prairie.
The World Professional Chuckwagon Association spend the holiday in Ponoka, where Kurt Bensmiller won his second straight stop on the circuit. Most of the pro drivers will be heading to the Calgary Stampede this weekend, while the WCA will be in Rycroft.
