A hazmat team had to be called to the Canada Post Distribution Centre Monday morning after an unmarked package was found in a community mailbox drop. Platoon Chief Tony Lutzmann of the Grande Prairie Fire Department says a postal worker found the package on their route and brought it back to report it to their supervisor.
As a precaution, the item was isolated in a secure area, and the hazmat team was brought in along with a crew of firefighters around 11:15 a.m. The substance inside was identified as meth and was turned over to RCMP. Police continue to investigate.
