A bar fight has led to charges against a Grande Prairie man. RCMP say there was an altercation inside the 100th Avenue and 97th Street venue at closing time on November 4th, and the man pulled out a weapon in a threatening way.
The suspect then ran to his vehicle parked nearby, but was followed by people involved in the fight. When police came across the scene around 2 a.m., the man was arrested and a gun and ammunition were seized from his vehicle.
29 year old Dionne Trahey has since been charged with multiple firearms offences, including assault with a weapon and possession of a prohibited firearm. His charges also include two counts of failing to comply with conditions and possession of a controlled substance. He’s set to appear in court on March 21, 2018.
Police ask the public to report any altercations to the RCMP to avoid escalating the situation.
