RCMP looking for witnesses to school bus crash

Peace Regional RCMP are looking for witnesses to a crash involving a school bus Monday morning. The crash happened between a First Student bus and an SUV at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 2A around 8:15 a.m. on December 11th.

The bus was carrying 11 students from Holy Family Catholic Regional Division and Peace River School Division at the time. HFCRD says three children were taken to hospital for assessment and released later in the day.

The bus’ 54 year old driver was taken to hospital and has since been released. They have been praised by the school district for their response to the crash. The 22 year old driver of the Hyundai Tucson was also taken to hospital with critical injuries, and at last report was in stable condition.

Police say an investigation into the crash is ongoing, and ask anyone who may have seen it or who has information to contact the detachment.
