A second round of public consultation is underway for the expansion of the skate park in Muskoseepi Park. New Line Skateparks have updated the original plans after their first round of consultation that wrapped up in late 2017.
The first pitch included two designs which after public feedback has been narrowed down to one option. The city is now looking for input on the latest design before construction begins in the spring. Residents can weigh in by completing a survey before February 19, 2018.
The $475,000 project is meant for skateboards and BMX bikes. The expanded structure will include a turnaround quarter pipe, “skateable seating” as well as trees and other seating.
The city hopes the new park and the surrounding area will appeal to skateboarders and non-skateboarders alike. The city also say they hope it will attract riders from all over.
