Precision Drilling grieving worker’s death

An oil and gas company is mourning the loss of one of its employees. A man in his 30s was killed on a Precision Drilling worksite in Clairmont on May 11th, and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety is investigating.

Precision Drilling Senior Vice President of Operations Ross Pickering says they are helping authorities with their investigation.

“Our hearts and prayers are with his family and his coworkers. At Precision we have a strong commitment to our safety culture and to the protection of our fellow workers and we are all deeply affected by this tragedy.”

OHS says the man was fatally injured when he was caught between two derricks. A stop order for derrick use at the site has been issued pending the investigation.
