A scratch and win ticket purchase led to a big win for a Grande Prairie man. John Dawson says he was back at the store he bought the ticket at in a matter of minutes.
“I had to make sure it was real.”
The Mega Cash Scratch N’ Win ticket showed a $1.5 million windfall for Dawson. He says his first thought was his family.
“I want to help them as much as I can.”

“I’d like to put some education money away for my kids,” he continues, ” I don’t want them to have to struggle with that like I did.”
Dawson also says he plans to fly home to surprise his parents in New Brunswick and buy a house. The ticket was purchased at the Circle K store on Resources Road and 76 Avenue.
