No more grizzly sightings reported in O’Brien Park

O’Brien Provincial Park remains closed due to an aggressive grizzly bear. It was spotted feeding on a moose carcass just west of the park Monday night, and the remains were moved within its border to try to contain the area.

Brendan Cox with Alberta Justice and Solicitor General says they have not gotten any more calls with sightings of the bear. Traps were also set with the intention of relocating the animal to a safer location if caught.

Conservation officers are now trying to figure out whether it has left the area. The park will remain closed until officials determine it is again safe for the public. The trail from the park to Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park is also closed down.
