Police looking for Jeep used to flee armed robbery

RCMP in High Prairie are looking to identify an armed robbery suspect. A business in the town was held up around 8 p.m. on August 22nd.

A mountie on patrol reported seeing a man running away with a bottle of liquor in the area of 53 Avenue and 47 Street. He then got into a white 2016 Jeep Cherokee an left the scene. Police say they didn’t chase the suspect out of concerns for public safety.

The incident was then called in to police, and it was reported that the suspect had used a gun to demand cash from the business’ till. He made off with an undisclosed amount of money and bottles of liquor. The store’s employee was not injured.

Police are now asking the public to call 9-1-1 if they see the Jeep with Alberta licence plate BMC 7883. The vehicle should not be approached, as the people inside are considered armed and dangerous.
