Police looking to ID break and enter suspect

Grande Prairie RCMP are hoping the public can help them identify a break and enter suspect. They’ve released a composite sketch of a man accused of breaking into an apartment complex on Poplar Drive in early August.

Police say a 65 year old woman woke up around 9:30 a.m. on August 6th to find a strange man in her ground floor apartment. He reportedly took her wallet and left. Officers contained the area with Police Dog Services, but weren’t able to find the suspect.

He is described as looking roughly 19 or 20 years old, around 5’5″ with a slender build. The man had a dark complexion, black or brown shoulder length hair, and a beard with a moustache. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a circular silver design on it, which may have been a peace symbol or a knot.

Anyone who recognizes the man in the sketch or who has any information on the break-in is asked to contact the RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
