Major shake up on Dinosaur Museum Society board

The River of Death and Discovery Dinosaur Museum Society board has gone through a major shake up.

Other than Ross Sutherland remaining as Chair, there are only two former members still involved.

Secretary Kevin O’Toole says the new board is made up of residents of the Grande Prairie region.

“They know the importance of this, not that the other boards [didn’t], but the County wants us to be separate, and we don’t want to have to depend on them as much, so it’ll be an independent board.”

New museum CEO George Jacob has taken over as Executive Director of the Society from Brian Brake.

The new board expects to move into their offices at the museum on November 15th.

Their main goal will be to fundraise the remaining $4.3 million for in order to get the museum open, hopefully by next spring or early summer.

They’ve also found a business to take over the museum’s cafe.
