Remembrance Day 2018: Ceremonies in and around the city

People in the area are preparing to honour those who fought for our country. Here’s a list of some of the Remembrance Day ceremonies and events taking place in and around Grande Prairie this Sunday.

City of Grande Prairie
Remembrance Day at Revolution Place- Doors open at 9:45 am and the ceremony begins at 10:45. There will also be an outdoor ceremony at the Jubilee Park Cenotaph starting at 10:45.

Wembley
People can meet at the Community Hall at 10:15. Everyone will walk over to the Cenotaph at 10:45 and the ceremony will begin at 10:50. There will then be lunch back at the hall.

Beaverlodge
The day starts with a free pancake breakfast at the Alliance Church from 9-10. Then everyone will leave from the elementary school at 10:30 heading past the cenotaph and ending at the Community Hall. A lunch will follow the ceremony.

Sexsmith
There will be a ceremony at the Sexsmith Civic Centre starting at 10 am. Light lunch to follow.

Village of Hythe
Doors open at Royal Canadian Legion Hythe Branch #93 at 10 am. The ceremony will start at 10:45.
