Town of Wembley looking for a new CAO

The Town of Wembley is on the hunt for a new Chief Administrative Officer. Current CAO Lori Parker has decided to leave the position to be closer to her family.

“My daughters and grandchildren live in the Edmonton area and I’ve been working with the town of Wembley for the past 12 years. I just decided that it was time to move closer to my family.”

Parker originally came from Manitoba where she was a CAO for nine years. During her time in Wembley, she held the position for the last 12 years. Bringing city water to the town is what she will remember most about her time there.

“There’s a lot to look back on and I’m glad that I’m leaving and Wembley will actually be very close to hooking up to the regional water line which will be huge for the growth of the community. There should hopefully be no more water restrictions. Water’s been a challenge for the last ten years for Wembley.”

The town says Parker’s ideal replacement would be a proven team leader with strong communication and collaboration skills. While Parker says she’s stepping down from this job, she’s not ready to hang everything up just yet.

“[I’ll] Probably head on to something else near Edmonton. I can’t see myself stopping work I’ve been working for quite a while. Even if it’s only part-time… I’ll take some time off but I do plan to work.”

The town has hired a recruitment firm to find Parker’s replacement. A full job description and application instructions can be found online. The application deadline is February 28th. Parker’s last day as CAO is March 15th.
