Fairview veterinarian given President’s Award by peers

A recently retired veterinarian from Fairview has been honoured for his years of dedication. Dr. Lloyd Keddie has been presented with the President’s Award by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association. He says he can’t put the win into words.

“It took me totally by surprise. I know I questioned my deservedness of it but I accept it with all grace and humility. I just don’t know how to put it into words.”

Keddie was nominated for the award and chosen because of his commitment to CMVA and the work he has done on its behalf. Keddie opened what is now known as the Fairview Veterinary Clinic with another doctor in 1995.

He has been practising veterinary medicine for over 40 and says he’s done a lot work with both the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association and the CVMA during his time.

“I’ve been president of both those associations and it was probably a total of close to nine years that I was on the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and it’s wonderful to be rewarded in such a way by my peers after all these years.”

While Keddie still does work for ABVMA, he officially retired from the Fairview clinic at the end of December.
