Event planned to honour longest serving GPRC President Don Gnatiuk

Don Gnatiuk is being honoured for the 12 years he devoted to Grande Prairie Regional College. A tribute to the retiring college president and CEO called Mark On You: A Vital Tribute To Don Gnatiuk will be held on September 12th.

Gnatiuk came to GPRC in 2007 and became the eighth person to hold the President and CEO title. He is also the longest-serving person to hold both titles. He officially announced his retirement on January 7th.

He considers the college getting degree-granting status the high point of his career and said previously that when that happened, he knew it was time to hand over the reins.

“I’ve told boards, current and in the past, that once we achieved that it would be time for me to retire because when we move towards degree-granting and towards university status, it’s gonna take a different type of leadership.”

Gnatiuk will stay in the role until a replacement is found or until March 2020.

The event will be held at the Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Centre with doors open at 5:30 p.m. For tickets, visit GPRC’s website or call 780-539-2023.
