People in and around Grande Prairie may notice smoke in the air Thursday night.
County of Grande Prairie firefighters will be conducting a hazard reduction burn along the CN tracks near Weyerhaeuser from 5 to 9 p.m.
Fire Marshal Ken Atamanchuk explains that the grass along the tracks is tall and dry, so they want to reduce to the risk of a wildfire starting.
Smoke in the area is expected, unless the burn is postponed if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
