Townes, Goodvin among 2022 CCMA Award nominees

Locals Tenille Townes and Aaron Goodvin are among the list of nominees released for the 2022 Canadian Country Music Association Awards in several different categories.

Townes, who grew up in Grande Prairie has been nominated for eight different awards. She is up for Entertainer of the Year, Ford F-150 Album of the Year for her album titled Masquerades, Amazon Music and Alex Fans’ Choice Award, Spotify Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for her song Girl Who Didn’t Care, Songwriter of the Year for that same title, written by Steph Jones, David Pramik, and Tenille Townes, but performed by just Townes. Townes music video for Girl Who Didn’t Care has also been nominated for Video of the Year.

Spirit River native Aaron Goodvin is up for Interactive Artist of Group of the Year and Single of the Year for his song titled Boy Like Me.

Townes was also nominated with Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc. for Country Music Program or Special of the Year for Christmas with Tenille Townes.
