10 per cent increase in local FCSS funding

The Family and Community Support Services programs in the Peace Region are getting a boost in funding. The provincial government has increased their allocations by 10 per cent over last year’s amounts.

In the City of Grande Prairie, which receives the sixth highest amount in the province, it will see its dollars go up by nearly $103,000 to $1.13 million. The County will get another $38,500, giving it $385,000 to work with.

FCSS organizations across the province offer community-based programs and services. The government provides 80 per cent of funding while municipalities provide the rest.
