HFCRD Superintendent Betty Turpin announces retirement after two-decades of service

Holy Family Catholic Regional Division Superintendent Betty Turpin has announced her retirement, effective in August of 2025.

Turpin has served as Superintendent of the HFCRD since 2007, and during her 18-year career, her colleagues have maintained she has continued to be a guiding force in catholic education.

“Her legacy will continue to shape our schools for years to come,” Board Chair Kelly Whalen says.

Throughout her career, the Superintendent led the division through a number of milestones, including the construction of the Grimshaw Shared School Facility, adding vape detectors in all of her division’s schools, and more recently, welcoming St. Thomas More School into the division, spearheading the portables project, which will bear fruit this December.

During her announcement, Turpin took a moment to thank her colleagues at the HFCRD for her long and storied career at the division.

“Together, we’ve built a strong foundation for future success, and while I’m stepping away from my role, the work we’ve done will continue to inspire and shape the area for years to come,” she says.

The HFCRD Board of Trustees says they will begin the search for a new superintendent in the coming months, and remain committed to ensuring a “smooth transition” as the leadership prepares for a switch.
