Northwestern Alberta Foundation will begin accepting nominations for “7 Over 70” awards on December 3rd

The Northwestern Alberta Foundation is encouraging residents to think of an outstanding senior in their lives as nominations for the foundation’s “7 Over 70” Awards open up on December 3rd.

Each year, the Northwestern Alberta Foundation recognizes seven exceptional individuals over the age of 70, who have made a lasting impact in Alberta during a ceremony to highlight their achievements.

Categories include the Lifetime Achievement Award, which honours an individual with a “lifelong dedication” to making a positive impact in the community, the Historical Community Builder Award, acknowledging someone whos heritage and presence has been integral to the identity of the community, and the Regional Legacy Award which recognizes someone who has made a lasting impact on the broader Northwestern Alberta region.

Additionally, the Cultural Enrichment Award is open for those who have contributed to their community through the preservation of arts and culture while the Philanthropy Award recognizes someone who has made significant contributions in humanitarianism.

The Mentorship Award recognizes a senior who has acted as a mentor for the next generation, and the Entrepreneurship Award honours an individual who has pursued innovative projects that contribute to their community’s economic growth.

Nominations close on March 20th of next year, with the awards celebration scheduled for June 7th, 2025, at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre.
