Applications for the Peace Wapiti Public School Division’s bursary, which assists those living within PWPSD boundaries in obtaining their Bachelor of Education degree, will open on December 2nd.
The program is open to all individuals entering into a four-year BEd program, or a two-year After-Degree BEd program at an accredited Alberta university.
To qualify, interested applicants must be a graduating student from PWPSD, be currently working for the division for a minimum of two years, be living within PWPSD boundaries, or be a former PWPSD graduate.
Applicants who meet any or all of the requirements can apply by completing the application form, writing a 500 to 750-word essay on their experiences working with children, and submitting a resume and references.
Upon approval, the PWPSD will pay up to the sum of $3,000 as an award for the student to continue in their course of studies.
Throughout their studies in their BEd program, bursary recipients must submit term marks when available to continue accessing the funding, maintain a passing average, and be willing to accept any open position throughout the PWPSD upon completion of their studies.
Applications for the bursary program will be accepted from December 2nd to February 14th, 2025 at 11:55 p.m.
