Kevin O’Leary, MD of Greenview announce development partnership

The MD of Greenview has a new shark in the water, announcing a new partnership between the MD and O’Leary Ventures to construct new infrastructure in support of O’Leary’s plans to build the largest AI data centre industrial park in the world.

According to the MD, the new partnership will see the construction of off-grid natural gas and geothermal power infrastructure to support the “Wonder Valley” campus, which will be located in the Greenview Industrial Gateway.

A Letter of Intent has already been signed between the two parties for the purchase and development of thousands of acres of land within the industrial gateway.

The Wonder Valley project will be rolled out in multiple phases, and officials say the plans mark the creation of an all-new industry sector in the region and the country, providing long-term employment opportunities throughout the development and beyond.

O’Leary Ventures Chairman Kevin O’Leary calls the site the “most compelling” in North America, and due to the site’s proximity to sources of natural gas, alongside pre-existing infrastructure like the fibre optic line in the area, the project could be up and running “sooner than any scale project of its kind.”

“Given existing permits, proximity to stranded sources of natural gas, pipeline infrastructure, water, and a fiber optic network within just a few kilometers of the Greenview Industrial Gateway, we will be in the ground and up and running sooner than any scale project of its kind,” he says. 

Mr. Wonderful adds that the gateway’s cold-weather climate and the region’s “highly-skilled” labour force make the location attractive for new developments.

“The GIG’s ideal cold-weather climate, a highly skilled labor force, Alberta’s pro-business policies, and attractive tax regime make the GIG the perfect site for this project,” he says. “We want to deliver transformative economic impact and the lowest possible carbon emissions afforded to us by the quality of gas in the area, our efficient design, and the potential to add Geothermal power as well.” 

On top of the obvious employment and financial benefits, the new project is expected to attract the attention of global investors, and officials say they are looking forward to establishing Alberta and Canada as world leaders in this emerging industry.
