As the CUPW postal strike rolls on, STARS is encouraging donors to consider doing so online this holiday season.
According to STARS, in a typical December, more than 65 per cent of donations arrive through the mail; however, given the ongoing Canada Post strike, the rescue service is encouraging holiday donors to consider donating online, or in person at one of the six STARS bases across Western Canada, including Grande Prairie.
STARS President and CEO Katherine Emberly says the service depends on its influx of donations during the holidays to continue its essential work across the country.
“Due to the Canada Post strike, your timely support is more crucial than ever,” she says. “Delivering critical care anywhere is not possible without the support of our community donors, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s willingness to be flexible with their donation methods.”
STARS maintains that donating online is quick, easy, and secure; however, other options are available for those who wish. Residents who want to donate over the phone can do so by calling 1-(855)-516-4848 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mountain Time.
Those who wish to hand-deliver their donations can visit any of the STARS bases in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Saskatoon, Regina, and Winnipeg between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
