The City of Grande Prairie has opened up nominations for the 2025 Women of Influence Awards.
The annual tradition has been a staple in Grande Prairie for years and seeks to recognize the women driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the Peace Country. The city says the awards highlight the women championing gender equality, breaking barriers in their field, and advocating for greater access for all.
Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton calls the awards a “powerful event” that continues to showcase the innovative women who call Grande Prairie home.
“We encourage everyone to consider nominating the changemakers and trailblazers in their lives so we can shine a spotlight on all the great work happening in Grande Prairie,” she says.
New this year, the ceremony includes five award categories instead of the usual three. The Next Generation Award will recognize young women who demonstrate promise, and leadership while making an impact in their community, while the Game Changer Award seeks to celebrate women who disrupt societal norms, challenge the status quo, and pave a way in their field.
The Workplace Leadership Award will honour women who have excelled in leadership roles, while the Community Leadership Award looks to recognize women who have made significant contributions to the betterment of their community, and the Lifetime Impact Award will honour women whose contributions have left a lasting legacy in their work or community.
The ceremony is scheduled for March 7th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Bowes in Bonnetts Energy Centre. Interested individuals can make their nominations online on the city’s website.
