Rising Above Grande Prairie has set the date for the groundbreaking ceremony of the non-profit’s new recovery facility.
The ministry will break ground on January 6th at 1:30 p.m., during a special ceremony, to celebrate the significant milestone. The event will begin with a brief, outdoor presentation at the construction site, followed by an indoor reception with refreshments.
The project has been ongoing for some time now, and thanks to a land transfer from the City of Grande Prairie in July, the ministry is now prepared to finally break ground on the project.
Rising Above Executive Director Mel Siggelkow says the mission of the new addiction recovery facility comes from a place of hope, by providing greater capacity to support individuals in recovery, offering critical services to those impacted by drugs and addiction, and creating spaces to accommodate the growing demand for recovery resources in Grande Prairie.
“Rising Above is dedicated to fostering a brighter, healthier future for our community by expanding both our services and facilities,” he says. “As mental health and addiction challenges continue to rise, it is imperative that we pave the way for hope and healing.”
Siggelkow adds that the event is more significant than just an opening ceremony, he says the event marks the beginning of the ministry’s effort to strengthen the community while providing life-changing support for those in need.
