Odyssey House appoints new Executive Director, thanks Lisa Watson for five years of service

The Grande Prairie Odyssey House has appointed a new Executive Director after Lisa Watson stepped down from the role following five years of service.

According to officials at the Odyssey House, under Watson’s leadership, more than 1,100 women and 937 children were supported through programs, including a 24-hour crisis line, safe housing, and one-on-one support sessions. Watson is also credited with the inception of GrandeCon, and the launch of the 100 Families Initiative.

“Her leadership has made a lasting impact, and we wish her the very best in their future endeavours,” Board Chair Jenna Canavan says.

Given Watson’s departure, Odyssey House has appointed Mikaela Peters as Executive Director, effective December 23rd, 2024.

Peters is described as a long-time resident of Grande Prairie, with a strong background in leadership, psychology, and human resources. Additionally, she holds three years of experience in senior management, which the Odyssey House says makes her “well-acquainted” with the inner workings of the organization.
