Fairview man charged following RCMP arson investigation

The Fairview RCMP has laid charges after a several month-long investigation into reports of multiple residential fires in April 2024.

According to police, on April 25th, officers responded to a report that indicated numerous homes were on fire in the area of 108th Avenue in Fairview.

Police attended and assisted the Fairview Fire Department as needed, and ensured the safety of people in the neighbourhood. Fairview’s Victim Services Unit also attended to assist.

During their investigation, the Fairview RCMP requested help from the public and the assistance of an arson investigator, which ultimately led to the arrest of one man.

On January 14th, law enforcement charged 48-year-old Fairview resident Blake Everett Lee with alleged arson for fraudulent purposes, two counts of recklessly causing damage by fire, and two warrants for unrelated incidents.

Lee was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remains in police custody with a court date set for February 12th at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fairview.
