Freezing rain warning ends for Grande Prairie, Peace region

UPDATE #3: The freezing rain warning for Grande Prairie has ended.

UPDATE #2: Environment Canada has switched back to a freezing rain warning for the Peace. A few more hours of freezing rain are likely before it changes over to snow later this afternoon.

UPDATE: The freezing rain warning for the Peace region has been changed to a winter storm warning, with Environment Canada saying freezing rain and heavy snow are on the way. The freezing rain currently in Grande Prairie is expected to expand northward and eastward, followed by snowfall, which will be heavy at times. The snow will begin this afternoon in the Peace country with 10 and 15 centimetres expected by the time the snow ends on Saturday afternoon.

A freezing rain warning has been issued for the Peace region.

Environment Canada says surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. They say Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. They also add that a few hours of freezing rain are likely before it changes over to snow later this morning.
