UPDATE: Highway 2 crash sends woman to hospital

UPDATE #2: Highway 2 has reopened after this morning’s crash.

UPDATE: STARS Air Ambulance says it was called to the scene of the two-vehicle crash just north of Sexsmith just after 8:15 this morning. They airlifted a 28 year old woman to the QEII Hospital in stable condition. No word on any other injuries from the collision. The Sexsmith and Clairmont Fire Departments and local EMS also responded.

Grande Prairie RCMP are currently investigating a serious two vehicle collision on Highway 2 approximately 20 kilometres north of the city.

Highway 2 is down to one lane with alternating traffic and the other lane will remain not usable while the investigation continues.
