Second phase to petrochemical plant nearing completion

$46,000 in funding from the province will help the MD of Greenview look more closely at the proposed Petrochemical plant in the area. The municipality partnered with Devco Development for the CARES funding.

MD of Greenview Reeve Dale Gervais says the first phase of the project is complete and this money will help them lay the foundation for the whole project.

“The second phase is going to be done middle of March. We are going to get a presentation on the socioeconomic impact assessment. We will find out how this project can affect the local economy.”

On top of the Petrochemical project, Gervais says he is also looking forward to the tri-municipal industrial park with the county and city.

“The partnering with Devco Development will be a sort of pilot project for the tri-municipal venture.”

He says both have the potential to bring many jobs to the region. The industrial park was profiled in front of patrons of the Growing the North conference 2017. It is set to be built in the Grovedale area.
