Highway 43 part of provincial road project

The Alberta government has announced investment into highways around the province. The cost for the projects will be more than $500 million and the cost will be shared federally and provincially.

For the peace region, there will be 53 kilometres of Highway 43 re-paved near Whitecourt and the M.D. of Greenview. A portion near Sturgeon Lake will also have about 24 kilometres re-paved. This section of work will come in at around $28 million.

There will be 6.4 kilometres of new pavement being put in on Highway 40 south of Grande Prairie. A portion of Highway 668 south of the city is also expecting some work done. Highway 732 near Fairview and Highway 49 in the M.D. of Spirit River will also see some new pavement.
