As of November 2017, 16 of 21 charges against Rak have been withdrawn. On the remaining five charges, he was sentenced to three years and three months in jail as well as a lifetime firearms ban.
A Grande Prairie man is facing several charges after a traffic stop last week. 20 year old Nicholas Rak was pulled over by the RCMP Drug Unit in the area of 98 Street and 112 Avenue around 3 p.m. on October 18th.
Police say he was arrested without incident and a search of his vehicle turned up drugs, cash, and a set of brass knuckles. The seizure included roughly 22 grams of marijuana, 39 grams of cocaine, 31 grams of meth, 1.5 grams of powdered fentanyl, and a litre of GHB.
Rak has been charged with 20 Criminal Code offences, including multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. His charges also include 10 counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
A court date has been set for November 1st in Grande Prairie.
