Grande Prairie welcomes Santa with foggy parade

Despite a blanket of fog and chilly weather, Grande Prairie filled 100th Avenue downtown for an official start to the holiday season Sunday. The Santa Parade brought out hundreds of people looking for a wave from St. Nick, as well as more walking and driving in the parade itself.

The Grande Prairie Downtown Association named Great Clips the musical float winner. Cummins was considered the best service institutional community club winner, and Easton was the commercial winner. The Peace Draft Horse Club won the prize for best entry with animals, and Peace Country Ringette for the best with children.
